February 2012 RSVP Volunteer Opportunities

FAMILY SERVICES
Volunteers are needed for Compeer Golf at the Mall. This fun filled opportunity begins February 15th at center court. Once again volunteers will be needed to help distribute golf balls, putters and score cards. Two- hour shifts are still available. Call today for your spot at this great fund raiser.

ELMIRANS
This musical ensemble of RSVP volunteers travels locally providing musical entertainment to our senior homes, hospitals and groups. Space is available for volunteers who play an instrument. Come join the fun and spread some joy.

MEALS on WHEELS
Meals on Wheels is in need of volunteer drivers and runners. Meals on Wheels provides a quality service, but it’s the volunteers who provide a daily contact, a friendly face and a caring smile. Make a commitment and get involved.

FRIENDLY VISITING PROGRAM
Are you interested in some social conversation, reading or just sharing a cup of coffee with a senior citizen or homebound individual? The Friendly Visiting Program is in need of volunteers who are willing to share some time and make a new friend. Call today to hear more about this rewarding opportunity.

EOP/ERNIE DAVIS COMMUNITY CENTER
The Kids Café is looking for volunteers every afternoon to help serve middle school age kids a nutritious hot meal. This could be a lot of fun!

THE SENIOR CENTER, INC.
One hour, one day per week is all it takes for this volunteer opportunity. The Senior Center Inc. in Elmira is looking for a volunteer Brain Stretcher trainer. Brain Stretcher classes help you to think in a different way with a variety of brain “workouts.” Help yourself while helping others. Training is provided.

AMERICAN RED CROSS
A myriad of opportunities await you at the American Red Cross. Blood drives, canteen servers, instructors, disaster training, tele-recruiters and more. Call for more details and remember training is always provided.

RSVP AMBASSADORS
RSVP Ambassadors will promote RSVP, our programs and those of our partners to community organizations, clubs and civic minded groups. Power point presentation and brochures will be provided. Help us get the word out today. Call for more details.
