TRIAD of Chemung County Program

TRIAD is the agreement of law enforcement agencies, senior citizens, and senior providers working in partnership to:

  • address crime issues
  • reduce crime against older persons
  • enhance the delivery of law enforcement services

TRIAD assists senior citizens with information on crime prevention, personal and home safety, and consumer fraud and scams. TRIAD also provides speakers on these subjects for local community groups.

TRIAD uses existing resources by seeking input from senior volunteers, their participation in monthly meetings, and the distribution of information.

What Does TRIAD Do?

Educate: Sponsor crime prevention and victim/witness programs for senior citizens.

Assist: Recruit and train retired and senior volunteers to assist local and state police departments, and the Chemung County Sheriff's Department.

Emphasize: Peer reassurance programs to reduce fear and provide moral support.

Communicate: Provide a forum for law enforcement and the community to discuss needs and concerns and develop solutions.

Involve: Unite seniors and law enforcement to identify problem areas facing seniors so that community-wide solutions may be developed and implemented.

Individuals and representatives from community groups are welcome to attend monthly TRIAD meetings. IF you belong to a group or know of a group that would like to become involved in TRIAD, or that would like to schedule a TRIAD speaker, contact RSVP at 607.734.4161.
